Promoting mental wellbeing in the perinatal period

This one-day, inter-professional simulation course aims to support staff working with mothers in the perinatal period to identify mental illness early and promote better mental wellbeing.

Participants will experience a range of simulated scenarios and patients, followed by guided reflective debriefs with trained facilitators.

The course will help you recognise symptoms of mental illness, while learning how to prevent the development or deterioration of these symptoms, alongside how to access help when needed. It will explore some of the benefits and challenges of working with individuals’ support systems and help professionals reflect on how best to work with networks to enhance clinical care and promote wellbeing.
