Urgent and Emergency Care

Urgent and Emergency Care Staff Health and Wellbeing

In May 2021, we delivered a project for Health Education England which focused on supporting the wellbeing of urgent and emergency care (UEC) staff in Southeast London (SEL).

We conducted a consultation to advance departmental and network learning about health and wellbeing in SEL UEC settings - and build commitment to this agenda. The consultation followed an action learning approach using the following methods to maximise stakeholder engagement:

  1. Initial literature review
  2. System engagement and consultancy
  3. Leadership interviews
  4. Staff surveys
  5. Feedback workshops
  6. Strategy development workshop
  7. Network building workshop.

These activities resulted in the development of a SEL UEC Wellbeing report, a network development guide, a literature review of UEC staff wellbeing needs, and the establishment of a SEL UEC Wellbeing network.
