Alex Ruck Keene KC (Hon)

Alex is a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Institute and a Visiting Professor at the Dickson Poon School of Law. He spent from November 2016 to March 2017 on secondment to the Law Commission as a consultant to their Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Project, and 2018 was legal adviser to the independent Review of the Mental Health Act 1983. He was appointed an Honorary Kings Counsel in March 2022 in recognition of his contribution to the development of the law relating to mental health and capacity outside the courtroom.
