Mental health law

Training courses

Discover mental health law training courses and CPD on a range of topics. At Maudsley Learning, you can choose from courses online and in person to help develop your knowledge and skills.

Our courses are for people in secondary care mental health roles looking to upskill themselves as part of their professional development. They’re also appropriate for lawyers who want to specialise in mental health and keep up to date with current policy and best practices.

The Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act provide legal coverage for a wide range of mental health and physical health interventions that can be just as relevant in the acute hospital setting as in mental health trusts.

The imminent change from Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards to the new Liberty Protection Safeguards means that understanding the MCA and how it interacts with the MHA in patients under coercive or restrictive treatment is even more important for frontline staff.

Book on to our courses today individually as part of your CPD. Organisations can also arrange group bookings and bespoke courses, which aim to improve understanding and application of mental health law among staff.
