About the course

This one-day Mental Health Awareness and Wellbeing Training for Individuals course is an interactive workshop designed to develop participants’ understanding of mental health and wellbeing and build confidence in recognising and responding to common wellbeing challenges. Through a range of interactive learning methods, including case studies, videos, group discussions and myth-busting exercises, participants will explore what we mean by wellbeing and mental health and consider the differences between positive wellbeing, poor wellbeing and mental health difficulties.

The course explores common causes and indicators of poor wellbeing, stress and burnout, as well as the signs and symptoms associated with common mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. Participants will consider how these difficulties may present in themselves and in colleagues or peers.Participants will also explore the importance of self-care and early help-seeking and consider a range of coping strategies for managing stress, wellbeing challenges and mental health difficulties, including the difference between helpful and unhelpful approaches.
