SWAMPI for adults - Simulation Workshop at the Mental Physical Interface for Adults
This immersive workshop provides participants with the opportunity to:

Practise managing complex situations involving both mental and physical health presentations.

Explore effective communication, collaboration, and role clarity within multi-disciplinary teams.

Reflect on the stigma and challenges faced by patients with mental health conditions in physical healthcare settings.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Demonstrate improved confidence, knowledge, and skills in managing adults with physical and mental health comorbidities in general healthcare environments.

Recognise the importance of effective communication and collaboration in delivering safe and compassionate care.

Understand the impact of stigma on the experience and treatment of patients with mental health conditions.

Identify the roles and responsibilities of clinical and security staff when managing challenging situations in hospital settings.

Apply interpersonal and de-escalation skills to respond safely and respectfully to distressed or agitated patients.

Appreciate the importance of non-technical skills such as situational awareness, leadership, and teamwork in managing patients with complex mental and physical health needs.
