Dr Julie Fraser
Clinical Psychologist and Systemic Family Therapist
I’m a clinical psychologist and systemic family therapist. I’ve been working in community mental health teams, acute wards, and rehabilitation wards since 2008. I first became inspired by the Tree of Life in 2011 and the work of Angela Byrne in East London using Ncube’s (2006) model. In 2012, we were awarded funding from Maudsley Charity to design , develop and implement ‘service user/peer co-produced tree of life workshops’ across the adult acute wards in SLAM. As a result of the success of this work, co-produced tree of life is now an integrated part of the acute psychology model of care and won a national mental health award for ‘Promoting Equality and Diversity in Service Provision’. Since then I have been involved in numerous tree of life projects in SLAM and developed a training package for using Tree of life as a co-produced model in the NHS.
