Dr. Thomas Spencer

Dr. Thomas Spencer is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Department of Psychosis Studies and Education Lead for the School of Academic Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. He also serves as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the OASIS service, a team working with young people at risk of developing psychosis at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. His research explores the relationship between psychotic symptoms and changes in basic cognitive processes such as learning, memory, and reward processing. Dr. Spencer is also interested in thought disorder and novel treatments for those at risk of developing psychosis, and is involved in several therapeutic trials. He holds a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Liverpool and a Bachelor of Medicine (MB BChir) from the University of Cambridge.
