After completing this course, participants will be able to:
• Refresh and further develop confidence and skills in taking a psychiatric history, performing a mental state examination, and generating holistic patient formulations for common mental disorders.
• Increase confidence in risk assessments (risk to self, others, and from others) and understand the best pathways for managing risks in hospital, community, and home settings.
• Develop knowledge and skills in the management of common mental disorders.
• Understand and apply the Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act.
• Explore consultation dynamics and factors influencing patient interactions.
• Enhance non-technical skills, including teamwork and communication with colleagues.
