About the course

This six-day programme is designed for clinicians working in perinatal mental health services who are interested in developing skills in simulation-based education and becoming part of a regional simulation faculty.

The course combines face-to-face and online sessions, offering participants practical experience in simulation delivery, scenario design, debriefing, and structured facilitation training. It is open to all clinical professionals working in perinatal services, including nurses, psychologists, doctors, and allied health staff.

Participants will also have the opportunity to co-deliver a simulation session alongside experienced Maudsley Learning faculty. In addition, the programme includes post-course quality assurance observations and regular follow-up Q&A clinics to support continued development and application in practice.

*Please note to successfully complete the course, participants are required to attend all components of the training.

Joint Simulation Delivery with Maudsley Faculty

Face-to-Face

Participants co-deliver simulation and debrief sessions with feedback from expert facilitators.

Post-Course:

  • 2x QA & Impact Observations – Scheduled follow-up observations to support and maintain delivery quality.

  • Monthly Drop-In Q&A Clinics (Minimum 4) – Ongoing virtual sessions for coaching, troubleshooting, and discussion.

No prior experience in simulation training is required.
