About the course

Interactive training day for all staff involved in providing holistic care & physical health interventions for people with Serious Mental Illness. This course will be a mixture of case- based discussions, reflective practice and interactive practice using a trained actor as a simulated patient.

Learning objectives

At the end of this course learners will be able to:

  1. Identify and understand long-term physical health conditions

  2. Practice taking full physical health care history

  3. Understand common side effects of mental health medications

  4. Signposting and knowledge of resources available

Target audience
Pharmacists, Non-clinical staff, RMN, Occupational therapist, Allied Mental Health Professional (AMHP), Psychiatry trainees, RMN, Allied health Registered Mental Health Nurses, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Nurses, Non-clinical staff, Psychology students, Assistant psychologist Social workers. This course is not suitable for Consultant psychiatrists & psychiatrists.
