Gloucestershire Hospital NHS Senior Nursing Management Mental Health Course
Participants will be involved in a full day of classroom-based theory focused and highly interactive style of learning.
This course will also increase the awareness of the interphase between mental health and physical health, and the organisation of the mental health system with the aim of highlighting the systemic structures and their functions practically.
The core legal frameworks that underline decision making regarding treatment of individuals with either acute or chronic mental health challenges will also be explored.
The course will also aim at introducing a debrief model that will help facilitate reflective conversation after occurrence of mental health incidence in the acute Trust, to improve learning from experience in a safe and guided environment.
Additionally, it is aimed at equipping managers with the skills needed to support staff who maybe experiencing difficulties with their own mental health issues and increase confidence in signposting them to relevant services.
It will also aim at increasing the confidence of managers in improving personal and mental wellbeing as well as encouraging and supporting staff to improve same in the context of increased work-related stress in the era of the covid pandemic.
