Dr Moudhy Al-Rashid
Assyriologist, Junior Research Fellow
Dr Moudhy Al-Rashid is a postdoctoral researcher in the history of science and medicine at Wolfson College, University of Oxford, where she also completed a Master’s and Doctorate. Her current research focuses on the use of metaphor in the description of mental distress, though she spends the bulk of her time on outreach and public history. She has written for academic journals and public outlets, including History Today, on diverse topics in the history of the ancient Middle East. She also serves on the management committee of Nahrein, an AHRC-funded project in sustainability and cultural heritage in Iraq and neighbouring countries, and on the council of the British Institute for the Study of Iraq.
