Emily Nuttall

Lived Experience Lead | Neurodiversity & Mental Health Advocate

With a strong foundation in counselling at Level 3, recently completed, and a deep commitment to supporting neurodiverse adults and youth, Emily Nuttall is dedicated to advancing awareness and understanding in the fields of neurodiversity, eating disorders, mental health, suicide prevention, and self-harm.

As the Lived Experience Lead at the Transitions Eating Disorders Youth Intervention Project, Emily works closely with organisations such as Eating Disorders Autism Collaborative, Maudsley, Freed, Beat (UK Eating Disorders Charity), CEDS, PEDS, Club Majority, Orri, Peace Pathway, EDCRN, Grassroots Suicide Prevention, and independently with her own venture, Motivate the Mind. Through these roles, she has been instrumental in driving positive change in the education and intervention space, particularly for neurodiverse individuals and those affected by eating disorders, mental health challenges, and suicide.

Emily’s approach is rooted in the power of active listening and youth mentoring, bridging the gap between lived experience and professional practices. Her mission is clear: to amplify the voices of those with lived experience through her project work, training sessions, speaking engagements, co-authoring, media interviews, and research initiatives. Emily’s expertise in neurodiversity and mental health fuels her dedication to creating inclusive environments where individuals' unique challenges are acknowledged and their strengths celebrated.

At the heart of her work, Emily strives to help individuals remove their masks and embrace their authentic selves, empowering them to become the best version of who they are.
