Ermias Alemu
Training & Project Manager
Ermias Alemu is a health improvement and public mental health expert with a strong commitment to addressing inequalities. He has significant experience in strategic planning, community development, and stakeholder and project management.
With a clinical background and 25 years of experience, Ermias has supported marginalised groups facing mental health challenges within the NHS, as well as in private and voluntary sectors. For the past eight years, he has managed SLaM’s Mental Health Promotion Service, specialising in public mental health. In this role, he was responsible for the end-to-end process of assessing and developing mental health promotion interventions, including commissioning, designing, delivering, and evaluating outcomes.
Ermias holds an MSc in Transcultural Mental Health Care and is a qualified trainer in RECC. He is passionate about addressing existing mental health inequalities among diverse communities through preventative and public mental health interventions.
