About the course

During this 2.5-hour session, experts from South London and Maudsley NHS Trust will utilise case-based learning to introduce core relational skills and simple psychological techniques that you can employ when assisting individuals who suffer from anxiety or emotional distress. There will be a specific emphasis on the experiences of autistic individuals in the workplace, acknowledging the interplay between autism and anxiety, and providing insights into how to tailor techniques for use with autistic individuals. The course will be jointly delivered by an autistic trainer, offering a unique perspective, and attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions to the experts.

This course will encompass a range of essential topics designed to enhance your comprehension and skills in various aspects of anxiety management. These topics include gaining a profound understanding of anxiety and panic, effectively managing acute distress, skillfully engaging with individuals experiencing anxiety, establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries, navigating the process of seeking help for mental health concerns, and delving into the unique manifestations of anxiety within the context of autistic individuals. Through these comprehensive modules, you will develop a well-rounded grasp of anxiety-related challenges and strategies to address them.
