About the course

This online, one-day course for any professional working in adult mental health services considers how best to work with networks and families to enhance clinical care and promote wellbeing and recovery.

The course will allow you to be involved in a series of simulated scenarios using actors and will use established debrief models to assist you to learn positively and constructively from the experience.

It will explore some of the challenges and benefits of working with individuals’ support systems. It aims to skill you to work in ways that include family and social networks in all aspects of their work – in line with the 'Triangle of Care'.

  • To improve awareness of the benefits of working with families
  • To improve awareness of the challenges that can arise and their management
  • To reflect on how we rely on service users’ support networks in clinical practice.
