Dr Melissa E. Murray

Associate Professor of Neuroscience

Dr. Murray is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Her research focuses on investigating the individuality of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). She leads the Translational Neuropathology laboratory where her team uses multidisciplinary approaches to uncover neurobiological differences underlying atypical and typical neuropathologic subtypes of AD and their relevance to clinical presentations observed before death. She has published over 190 scientific papers, with the bulk of her NIH- and foundation-funded studies centered on identifying the clinicopathologic characteristics and neuroimaging biomarkers of AD and related dementias. She loves tie dye, scuba diving, records, and all things that are the brain!
